Mary Hodges West has been writing since first grade. Her first work was a comic strip called Little Carrot. Mary is a redhead, and she wrote Little Carrot as a memoir. After the accolades Mary received from her family for her ‘memoir,’ the writing bug bit.
Mary spent her youth writing comic strips, short stories, plays, and poetry. She worked in private business, government, medicine, and law as an adult, where she was the go-to employee for everything written: homeowners association documentation to political speeches to polishing the boss’s emails.
In addition to several decades of work-related writing, Mary spent twenty years editing and proofreading for a law book publishing company and creating website, blog, and social media content for private customers. She also works on her own writing projects. She is currently writing four novellas for her series, Tales of Buford Highway.
This blog combines past articles I wrote for my blog, Olive Crazy (published from 2011 through 2017), and new articles for the category, Thought Cemetery (2023 to present). Olive Crazy was all about growing, eating, using, and enjoying the olive fruit and its oil. Thought Cemetery is a compendium of my thoughts and ponderings on issues and subjects of our time.
